Gold Leadership Development Program

Certified Gold Leaders

The Gold Leadership Development process almost exclusively concerns itself about the future of the organization and the function of the people at the top management levels.  As people move higher in the organization, they concern themselves less with the doing, and more with where they are going.  In any organization, if it’s important to have the right people doing the right job, the Gold Leadership Development process is for the people at the top of the organization who are making those assessments.

The Leadership Council - Gold Leader

As such, leaders at this level concern themselves with questions like, “Who are the right people?” or “What are the right skills, knowledge, and attributes that are needed in my organization now, and to move it forward?”  The Gold Leadership Development program looks into these critical questions about the most important element in the success of the organization— the maximization of human capital.

A leader understands the value of planning and its relationship to success.  To create and lead an organization that will maintain a competitive advantage, many executives will have to transform an organizational culture that was founded on yesterday’s paradigms and ideas. Priorities will shift, and thinking will have to change. Attitudes and behaviors reflecting new and different social and organizational values will have to be adapted. For many people, learning to adjust to change will be difficult, and managing change will present even greater challenges. Organizational success will require leadership that is focused on positive results!

The program is divided into two tracks and concentrates on three essential elements necessary for professional development and honing of leadership skills.  All of these elements are necessary for continuous improvement, organizational alignment and balance.

The first track is best suited for members of executive teams in medium to large organizations.  Executive Strategic Planning concentrates on developing a plan for success, and while the material seems deceptively simple, that is hardly the case when put into practice.  Implementation of a strategic plan is the true determining factor as to whether or not an organization is effective.  For executives at the top levels, the leadership process often comes down to three core functions: (1) providing a format for the development of specific strategies; (2) converting those strategies into a business planning process; (3) establishing measurable and attainable organizational goals.

The second track is best suited for presidents, entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders of smaller organizations.  For an entrepreneur, Entrepreneurial Leadership and Strategic Thinking is the process of envisioning and determining the future to which you aspire, and the growth you will have to realize to achieve that future state.  Entrepreneurs need to concern themselves with visionary activities and leading others toward that vision.  As the leader of your business, people will look to you for direction, guidance, and support.  You will be the one they will look to for leadership stability, and you will be the one they will look to for decisions.  Entrepreneurship also often requires the willingness to take the calculated risks necessary to adapt to a changing environment.

By creating and implementing the proper plan for the organization, leaders can create the culture needed to make sure the organization is in alignment.  That is: Is there a plan?  Do the people know and support the plan, and does the plan support the people?  Do the organization’s processes support the plan, and does the plan support the processes?  Proper alignment is critical organizational success.

Both tracks will also be introduced to the Business Canvas.  The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template for documenting existing business models, or developing new ones. It is a visual map with elements describing a firm’s value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.

Advanced Insights:  What is Advanced Insights?

Advanced Insights combines the best of three world-class profiles: the Attribute Index measures how people think and make decisions; the Values Index measures motivational style and drivers, and the DISC Index measures a person’s preferred behavioral style. Together, they create the WHAT, WHY, and HOW of personal assessment. This tool unlocks the key to:

  • WHAT natural talents you possess based on how you think and make decisions.
  • WHY you are motivated to use them based on your motivators and drivers.
  • HOW you prefer to use them based on your preferred behavioral style.

 Why is this important?

From an organizational point of view, by understanding the way in which we think as individuals, it becomes possible to leverage that knowledge to make better decisions, maximize strengths, minimize weaknesses, and achieve greater success in whatever we do. When we gain an understanding for another person in an organizational setting, it increases awareness, allows for better utilization of skills and alignment of work, increases management efficiency and effectiveness, and in general can impact the organization’s overall health and performance.  Also, in an age when there are countless methods to communicate but the effectiveness of communication seems to be less and less, the Advanced Insights profiles provide leaders with a valuable tool to help them cut through the clutter and quickly assess issues with poor personal communication inside their organizations.
