Certified Silver Leaders

Silver Leader candidates are demonstrated team leaders who are the main link between the organization’s goals and the people who are responsible for the daily activities that make those goals a reality.  Because of the necessary and integral role that this position plays, good team leaders are key to the success of any organization.

Many everyday decisions required within this role affect profits, productivity and service as well as attitudes and morale.  Most team leaders have had little or no training in those required skills.  Most often, today’s team leaders are men and women who have been promoted from being an outstanding individual to a team leader.

The Leadership Council - Silver LeaderTeam Leadership Process: Focuses on the process which makes team leadership development not only possible, but also eminently effective & profitable.  Individually, each team leader, upon completion of the curriculum, will reflect the proficiency of a specialized knowledge, which creates a powerful force that assures the achievement of organizational goals through its people.

Attitude development, behavior management skills and goal accomplishment are essential elements of the curriculum.  Improved results and productivity begin by developing the attitudes that govern positive behavior.  Better  than  50% of a team leader’s time is spent managing other people.  To be effective in this role, it is important that the individual develops the skills necessary to effectively communicate and maximize productivity.    A team leader not only sets goals, but also needs to determine how they will be achieved, what obstacles must be overcome in the process, and the timeline necessary.

The Silver Leader masters the proven goal accomplishment model that can be immediately applied to any organization.

Annual Goals Review: Sharpen existing planning skills, refine planning talents, examine and refresh existing goals, deepen the understanding of goal achievement and implications of individual goals. Learn new skills in overcoming obstacles.

Emotional Intelligence: Truly effective leaders are distinguished by a high degree of emotional intelligence (EI), which includes self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.  Research shows that people who show high levels of emotional intelligence skills are stronger leaders, better decision makers, foster better relationships and increase team efficiency in the workplace.  It also suggests that EI is a more accurate predictor of success at work and in life than the more traditional IQ test.

Silver Leader candidates will learn and discuss Emotional Intelligence, its components and its importance.

Assessments:  Each Silver Level candidate will complete personal assessments providing insight into personal motivation and behavioral styles.

Length

12 weeks; 2 hrs/session

The Silver Leader program is 12 weeks in length with weekly sessions of 2 hours.  This process enables participants to “develop” since they will have time to apply the experience between sessions.  Each session will end with specific goals and action steps to be accomplished by the next session.

Who Should Consider the Program

Team leaders who have a Bachelor’s Degree with approximately 5-10 years of experience in the work force are candidates for Silver Level Certification. Their team has a single function within an organization and this leadership assignment is generally an intermediate role..  They have the role of inspiring others, setting goals and seeing they are achieved.
