16 – classes are 1/2 day for 4 days.  All instances appear on the schedule, simply register for the first class in the series.




The target audience includes business professionals, consultants, executives and business development professionals engaged in a government contracting environment; however, the core principles are applicable within any organization engaged in generating revenue.


This course provides the level of understanding of the business development process required for new and intermediate BD professionals.  It starts with the framework of how the various elements of a successful business development program are designed, planned and executed.  The course then discusses how to prepare for a Request for Proposals (RFP), including teaming,  client interaction, etc.  Then, after the RFP is released, we explore the role of capture manager, proposal manager, proposal task managment, pricing, compliance, color reviews, and submission.  Finally, we discuss how you can benefit after the award – win or lose; thus creating an ever improving BD process.

Course Objectives:

Each student will learn:

  • How to develop a pipeline and make bid decisions
  • How to form winning teams that produce winning proposals
  • How to use every capture effort to improve your overall BD effort
