Certified Bronze Leaders

The Bronze Leadership Development process is a structured, open-ended, and pragmatic approach to leadership growth. The process is designed to help individuals develop the attitudes, skills, and qualities necessary for personal and organizational leadership.

To most effectively lead others, the art of self-leadership becomes the first focus of an effective leader. Understanding who you are and what gives your life value will help you to establish your life’s purpose and pursue it with confidence, skill, and commitment. It’s about knowing where you are going, and how you are going to get there.

A leader combines the vision and curiosity of a dreamer with the practical building skills of an architect. A leader is goal directed, looking forward with anticipation toward the attainment of measurable outcome goals. Goals give an effective leader meaning and purpose and serve as a continuous source of motivation in pursuit of organizational and individual success.

The Bronze Leader program concentrates on:

  • the three essential elements necessary for development of the leader within us
  • all of the elements necessary for effective self-leadership
  • the eventual transition and development into leading others

The essential elements include:

Attitude Development: In order to create an environment of positive attitudes and possibility thinking, it is important for a leader to understand where and how attitudes are formed and how those attitudes can be developed.

Interpersonal Skills:  Much of what a leader is involved in, and therefore accomplishes, involves other people.  To be effective in this continuous challenge, it is important to learn, understand, and use interpersonal skills effectively.

Goal Setting:  Leadership, among other things, is the process of providing organizational direction and accomplishing necessary objectives.  The goal accomplishment model provides the tools and process necessary to achieve more goals, more often, in order to maximize results and outcomes.

In addition, participants in the Bronze Leadership Development Program will have the opportunity to complete two extremely valuable profiles that will give them insight into their own personal behavioral patterns and motivations.

The DISC Behavioral Profile is the most contemporary interpretation of Dr. William Marston’s groundbreaking work into understanding and measuring a person’s natural and adaptive behavioral styles.  Since each individual has their own unique preferences and habits for how they like to behave, this understanding is crucial when working with team members, as a leader or manager, or in an environment that requires conflict resolution.  By understanding HOW you prefer to behave, you are able to better align your environment, select the work that ensures more meaning and success, and produce less stress while doing so.  The DISC Index is fully validated and exceeds standards set by the EEOC for validity and reliability.

The VALUES Index is the latest interpretation of the works of Drs. Eduard Spranger and Gordon Allport and their study of human value, motivation, and drive.  The Values Index is the most contemporary interpretation of these theories available on the market today.  The Values Index helps people to better understand their unique value hierarchy or belief system pertaining to what motivates them, what they are most drawn to, and where their passions lie.  With this knowledge, individuals become more effective in several key areas of their lives.


10 weeks; 2-3 hrs/session

The Program is 10 weeks in length with weekly sessions of 2 to 3 hours. It is not a “teaching” program, but a “development” program. Participants will be expected to engage in this process through weekly readings and/or audio sessions, along with weekly real world application of the concepts covered. There is also a program Action Plan which can serve as an empirical action roadmap to take participants toward their goals and give them the understanding that success is a destination that can be reached through planning and execution.

Who Should Consider the Program

The Bronze Leadership Development program is the introduction to what leadership is all about. It is the foundation upon which all other leadership development programs are built. Candidates for this program should have an associate degree or higher, or 3 to 5 years of work experience, and need to have demonstrated some proclivity toward leadership behavior. Such proclivities might be: (a) rising above peers in work, social, group, or team situations; (b) being a recognized achiever in academic or professional training or development situations; (c) showing demonstrated initiative; or (d) showing demonstrated ability to be a pacesetter in a work, social, group, or team environment.
